Hi
Just trying to get a little activity going here. What action figure/toy lines do you collect/have collected?
Current -
Masters of the Universe Clbootyics DC Universe Clbootyics
Retired from collecting -
Playmates Star Trek Character Options Doctor Who
I just started getting DCUC, with some of the MOTUC vs DCUC 2-packs we get them anyway. I liked WB's JL and JLU but really not the toyline(a bit basic) so that gives me some familiarity with the characters.

I collect. For me it's more about the style of each figure more than a license or a line. I will say that Takara's Microman (Micronauts from Mego) makes up a significant potion of my collection. I have everything from block figures up to 1:6 scale, a few statues and even some stuffed figures. Mecha and Japanese figures are an easy draw. I just picked up the Zica Buck Rogers 1:9 scale figures. I will grab the occasional MOTUC figure and most of the DCUC from Mattel. I have almost all of the products offered directly from the Four Horsemen and have many 25th anniversary GI Joe figures. While working with Palisades I picked up a complete collection of their Fairly Odd Parents, Zimm, Buffy, Muppets and many others. I have pictures from several years ago at gallery.me.com/meyer.mark. I need to take updated shots but haven't done so in quite some time.

Cool beans. I cherry pick DCUC, but Katma Tui was my first. I just really liked her aesthetic. Then I got Aquaman in a DCUC vs MOTUC 2 pack and figured "why not?" So I am picking those up here and there, playing a little bit of catch up.
I've seen pics of that Buck Rogers (I think) and he looks decent. I never had any Buck Rogers merchandise, but I am familiar with it.
the Fourhorsemen have held my attention for years but I do not get everything they produce. They're talented, but some of their products are a bit..hmm...busy for me.
I'm not sure what you did at Palisades, but just having worked with them is pretty cool, so props to you!

Welcome to the boards Ideal!
How well do the Marvel figures scale with DCUC? I thought about picking up a few of my favorite marvel characters but I am still undecided.

Welcome to the boards Ideal! How well do the Marvel figures scale with DCUC? I thought about picking up a few of my favorite marvel characters but I am still undecided. Marvel Legends scale fairly well height wise with DCUC, but the sculpting style is drastically different and makes them look a bit odd next to each other. for the most part, MLs have a more detailed musculature, slimmer, and have a "dirty" look to them, where as DCUC have basic musculature, are more on the thick barrel chested side, and have an overall polished look to them when Marvel Legends went to Hasbro, they lost most of the "dirty" look, but still have more of a "cut" look to the musculature. to put in better perspective, it is like the muscles on a martial artist compared to a professional wrestler. yeah the wrestler has definition as is in great shape, but the martial artist has levels of muscle tone that the wrestler just cant match aesthetically speaking, i prefer what DCUC has done, as the articulation has a more natural look to it with the incorporated ball joints and hip articulation, as opposed to MLs with their super obvious ball joints attached everywhere as far as picking up some MLs, what i would suggest is considering each figure on a case by case basis. some figures will look more out of place with DCUC than others based on the design of the character and how they chose to portray it. some characters will still look perfectly fine with DCUC i also have this musculature issue when finding figures to pose alongside MOTUC, as He-Man and crew are really beefy compared to pretty much everyone else

Hey guys, I'm new to these parts.
I'm pretty much a MOTUC guy at heart since its the primary line I currently collect. I dabble with the GI Joes and cherry pick a figure here and there from Marvel Universe or the Marvel movie franchises. I'm anticipating the Captain America stuff because I'm a fan of the character. I don't collect wrestling figures as heavily as I did say maybe 2 yrs ago but I get a few of the newer Mattel versions since IMO they're alot better and in scale with one another.
I'm a Batman fan as well so I'm hopeful the new Mattel line called Batman Legacy has some kickbooty figures.
There's a few lines I wish continued though. If they were still going strong I'd collect them for sure. The Mezco lines for The Goon, Hellboy (comic style) and the Attack of the Living Dead were short yet gave me some very cool figures. Not to mention the comic inspired TMNT line by NECA. I'm still disappointed we never had a chance to get the Shredder figure they showed prototypes of.

Welcome to the boards venenor! MOTUC is my primary collection right now too. The wrestling figures I see in stores always catch my eye, plus some of them come with great equipment i.e. spotlights, dumpsters, etc... I know what you're saying about Batman Legacy, those upcoming releases have my attrention. We'll probably see more of them at SDCC '11. Heh, more of everything really.

That's a big question, but here goes...
1 - WWE Legends (Mattel) 2 - Transformers (Hasbro) 3 - DCUC (Mattel) 4 - Marvel Legends (Toy Biz and Hasbro) 5 - S.H. Figuarts (Bandai Japan) 6 - The Muppet Show (Palisades) 7 - NECA Video Game Figures 8 - Various Retro Toys (Robocop, Swamp Thing, COPS, ect)
... I think that's about it. Every once in a while something else sneaks its way in, but these are the big players in my collection.
